Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
विष्णोश्ष॒क्रंं च तद् घोरं वज़ञमाखण्डलस्य च । शीर्ण पुराभवत् तात ग्रहस्याड्रेषु केशव
viṣṇoś cakraṃ ca tad ghoraṃ vajram ākhāṇḍalasya ca | śīrṇaṃ purābhavat tāta grahasyāṅgeṣu keśava ||
Dijo Vāsudeva: «Oh amado, oh Keśava: tanto el terrible disco de Viṣṇu como el rayo (vajra) de Ākhāṇḍala (Indra) se habían, en tiempos antiguos, gastado y hecho añicos contra los miembros de aquel Graha. He aquí la enseñanza: aun las armas divinas más poderosas pueden resultar ineficaces cuando un ser está amparado por un poder extraordinario; por ello no debe uno fiarse de la fuerza desnuda, sino buscar el medio justo y el orden superior que rige la victoria».
