वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights kṣātra-vīrya (martial excellence) and the social ethic of honoring extraordinary skill even amid conflict: the troops publicly acknowledge prowess, showing how fame (yaśas) is earned through demonstrable capability.
Arjuna releases a volley of fast arrows; Karṇa counters by cutting them down/repelling them, then gives a loud lion-like roar. The surrounding soldiers applaud and praise Karṇa’s feat.
