Adhyaya 8: Yogasthanas, Ashtanga Yoga, Pranayama-Siddhi, and Shiva-Dhyana leading to Samadhi
Suta Goswami (narrating the dharma-teaching within the Linga Purana to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It sets a purity rule (snāna after conjugal activity) that qualifies a householder for approaching Shiva’s Linga with śauca, making worship fit and uninterrupted by impurity.
By implying that approach to Pati (Shiva) requires inner yama-niyama and outward śauca, it reflects Shiva-tattva as the pure Lord who is attained through disciplined, sattvic conduct rather than mere external status.
Snāna (ritual bathing) as śauca, and brahmacarya understood as regulated conduct—so a gṛhastha can remain yuktātmā (yoga-aligned) while living a lawful life.
