Suta Goswami (narrating the Purana to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It frames night-long Māheśvarī upāsanā as a catalyst for auspicious manifestation—implying that sustained devotion to Pati (Shiva) purifies the pashu and prepares the field for grace and spiritual unfolding.
Shiva is indicated as “paraḥ” (the Supreme) who can appear as the source of manifestation through Prakṛti—showing transcendence (beyond pasha) while also empowering creation through Shakti.
A complete-night observance (vrata/upāsanā) dedicated to Maheshvara—aligned with Shaiva vrata practice and supportive of Pashupata-style discipline: vigilance, worship, and inward steadiness through the night.
