When all his missiles were being cut down, and even his divine weapons were failing under that onslaught, Hari—by sheer abundance of power and means—set his mind upon the resolve to strike down Bāṇa.
Sage Parāśara (narrating to Maitreya)
Avatara: Krishna
Purpose: Krishna acts to protect cosmic and royal order by subduing the asura-king Bāṇa whose unchecked power and alliances threaten dharma.
Leela: Yuddha
Dharma Restored: Protection of the righteous and restraint of asuric violence through divine kingship
Vishnu Form: Hari
It highlights that astras and human/divine armaments are secondary to Hari’s sovereign will; when instruments collapse, the Supreme’s intent becomes the decisive force.
Parāśara frames the moment as a shift from exchanged weaponry to inner resolve—Hari ‘turns his mind’ toward ending the conflict, underscoring divine agency over mere technique.
Hari is portrayed as the ultimate controller: even amid overwhelming combat and counter-weapons, his abundant power and determination establish the final outcome, reinforcing Vaishnava supremacy.
