bhuktvā divyān mahābhogān bhaviṣyasi mahākule jātismaro matprasādāt tato mokṣam avāpsyasi
Having enjoyed celestial and abundant delights, you shall be born in a great and noble family. By my grace you will remember former births, and thereafter attain liberation.
Sage Parasara (narrating a boon/prediction within the lineage narrative) to Maitreya
Cosmic Hierarchy: Lokas
Concept: By the Lord’s grace, worldly and heavenly enjoyments culminate in jātismṛti and finally mokṣa.
Vedantic Theme: Moksha
Application: Treat prosperity as preparatory; maintain remembrance and devotion so experience ripens into liberation.
Vishishtadvaita: Mokṣa is attained through the Lord’s prasāda; personal continuity (memory/identity) is meaningful within real rebirth and release.
Vishnu Form: Para-Brahman
Bhakti Type: Shanta
This verse presents past-life memory as a grace-bestowed spiritual aid: recollection arises “by my prasāda,” helping the soul turn from enjoyment toward final moksha.
The verse outlines a sequence: first the fruition of merit as divine pleasures, then rebirth in a noble lineage, then awakened remembrance through grace, culminating in liberation—showing karma’s order guided by higher favor.
Even where karmic results are acknowledged, liberation is framed as ultimately secured through divine grace, aligning with Vaishnava emphasis on the Supreme Lord as the final giver of moksha.
