मृतस्य केशेषु तदा गृहीत्वा मधुसूदनः चकर्ष देहं कंसस्य रङ्गमध्ये महाबलः
mṛtasya keśeṣu tadā gṛhītvā madhusūdanaḥ cakarṣa dehaṃ kaṃsasya raṅgamadhye mahābalaḥ
Then Madhusūdana, mighty in strength, seized the dead Kaṃsa by the hair and dragged his body through the middle of the arena.
Sage Parāśara (narrating to Maitreya)
Avatara: Krishna
Purpose: To publicly conclude Kaṃsa’s tyranny and demonstrate that adharma, once slain, is stripped of all royal pretension.
Leela: Loka-rakshana
Dharma Restored: Public assurance of safety and the end of oppressive rule.
Vishnu Form: Krishna
It marks the public and unmistakable end of tyrannical adharma—Krishna’s victory is not hidden but displayed as a restoration of rightful order.
Through a concrete narrative act: the Lord removes the oppressor and demonstrates that power rooted in unrighteousness collapses before the Supreme.
Krishna is portrayed as the Supreme Reality acting within history—protecting dharma, liberating the oppressed, and asserting divine sovereignty over worldly kings.
