manvantarāṇy aśeṣāṇi kathitāni mayā tava manvantarādhipāṃś caiva kim anyat kathayāmi te
I have told you in full of all the Manvantaras, and also of the sovereign regents who preside over them; what more, then, shall I relate to you?
Sage Parāśara
Speaker: Parasara
Topic: Completion of the catalogue of Manvantaras and their presiding regents; transition to the next topic
Teaching: Cosmological
Quality: authoritative
Creation Stage: Manvantara
This verse marks the completion of the Manvantara account, emphasizing that cosmic time is structured into repeating administrations (Manus and their regents) under an overarching divine order.
By listing the Manvantaras and their presiding rulers, Parāśara presents the universe as orderly and cyclical—governed through delegated authorities across eras rather than random change.
Even when regents preside over each Manvantara, the Purāṇic framework implies Vishnu as the sustaining Supreme Reality behind the cycles, making sovereignty ultimately derivative of him.
