FAQs

The verse reflects a common Purāṇic motif in which major deities receive defined cosmic abodes, linking genealogical episodes (e.g., Dakṣa’s lineage through Dākṣāyaṇī) to the sacralization of specific landscapes such as Kailāsa.

Kailāsa (Kailāsa Mountain), a renowned sacred-geographical locus in Indic literature, often associated with the Himalayan region in later cultural and scholarly identifications.

Rather than a direct moral injunction, the verse communicates a cultural-philosophical principle: sacred space is established through cosmological order and relational duties, framing certain landscapes as heritage sites embedded in narrative memory.
