बलिर्वामनरूपेण त्वया बद्धोऽसुरारिणा । हिरण्याक्षो महादैत्यो हिरण्यकशिपुर्हतः
balirvāmanarūpeṇa tvayā baddho'surāriṇā | hiraṇyākṣo mahādaityo hiraṇyakaśipurhataḥ
Bali was bound by you, the foe of the Asuras, when you assumed the form of Vāmana. The great Daitya Hiraṇyākṣa was slain, and Hiraṇyakaśipu too was killed.
Devas (continuing the hymn)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Jagannātha (Viṣṇu/Nārāyaṇa)
Scene: A dynamic montage: Vāmana as a radiant dwarf brāhmaṇa placing his foot, binding Bali; alongside, battle imagery of Hiraṇyākṣa and Hiraṇyakaśipu’s downfall (suggested rather than fully depicted), with Devas rejoicing.
Divine power humbles pride and protects cosmic order; when arrogance rises, the Lord restores Dharma through fitting means.
Prabhāsakṣetra, where the Lord’s victory over adharma is invoked to magnify the sanctity of the place.
None directly; the verse is part of a stotra recalling avatāra-līlās.
