ārādhito'sau bhīmena sarvakāmaprado'bhavat | phālgunasya caturthyāṃ tu śuklapakṣe vidhānataḥ
Worshiped by Bhīma, that Lord became the bestower of all desired aims. According to the prescribed rite, He is to be adored on the fourth day (Caturthī) of the bright fortnight in the month of Phālguna.
Īśvara (Śiva) (contextual continuation)
Tirtha: Viśveśa (Durgakūṭaka)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahādevī (Pārvatī)
Scene: Bhīma, the mighty Pāṇḍava, stands with folded hands before the Viśveśa liṅga at a fort-hill shrine; offerings of bilva and water are arranged; the scene subtly marks Phālguna śukla caturthī with spring blossoms and clear sky, signifying fulfillment of desires.
Properly-timed and properly-performed worship at a sanctified shrine is shown as fruit-bearing, validated by heroic exemplars like Bhīma.
Viśveśa at Durgakūṭaka in Prabhāsa Kṣetra (context from the preceding verse).
Worship according to rule on Phālguna month’s Śukla-pakṣa Caturthī.
