idaṃ mahāpātakanāśanaṃ ye śroṣyaṃti vai kṣetramahāprabhāvam | te cāpi yāsyanti mama prabhāvāttriviṣṭapaṃ puṇyajanādhivāsam
Whoever truly listens to this account of the kṣetra’s great power—this destroyer of major sins—will, by my grace, attain Triviṣṭapa, the heavenly realm where the meritorious dwell.
Śiva
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī Satī (inner); sages (outer)
Scene: A proclamation of fruit: devotees listening to the Prabhāsa-māhātmya, while a celestial vista of Triviṣṭapa opens above—gandharvas, apsarases, and luminous abodes of the puṇyajana.
Śravaṇa (devout listening) to a kṣetra’s Māhātmya is itself meritorious and can destroy grave sins.
Prabhāsa kṣetra, whose ‘great power’ (mahāprabhāva) is being proclaimed.
Śravaṇa—listening to the Māhātmya with faith—is presented as the effective practice.
