akṣauhiṇyā dalenaivāyuddhyatkṛṣṇena bho dvijāḥ | sa yudhyamānaḥ kṛṣṇena vadhyamāno hataujasaḥ
O brāhmaṇas, he fought with Kṛṣṇa, who was accompanied only by a division of an akṣauhiṇī. As he battled Kṛṣṇa, he was struck down, and his strength was shattered.
Śrīprahlāda
Tirtha: Dvārakā (contextual)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Brāhmaṇas (dvijāḥ)
Scene: Kṛṣṇa on chariot with a compact force, arrows flashing; Rukmī’s chariot rocked, his aura fading as he is struck; battlefield strewn with broken standards.
Worldly power collapses before the divine; the Lord’s protection of dharma does not depend on vast armies.
Dvārakā, as the setting for Kṛṣṇa’s līlā and the later temple-gate tradition.
None; it is a narrative description of battle and defeat.
