उत्तरायणसंक्रांतौ लिंगपूरणकेन हि । शिवरात्रौ विशेषेण संपूज्य उमया सह । रात्रौ जागरणं कृत्वा परमं लोकमाप्नुयात्
uttarāyaṇasaṃkrāṃtau liṃgapūraṇakena hi | śivarātrau viśeṣeṇa saṃpūjya umayā saha | rātrau jāgaraṇaṃ kṛtvā paramaṃ lokamāpnuyāt
At the Uttarāyaṇa Saṅkrānti, by the rite of “liṅga-pūraṇa” (filling/completing the liṅga), and especially on Śivarātri by worshipping (Śiva) together with Umā, and by keeping vigil through the night, one attains the supreme world.
