अस्मिन्पदे मया न्यस्ते यांति लोकाः सहस्रशः । स्पृशंतु ऋषयः सर्वे देवाश्चापि पदं मम
asminpade mayā nyaste yāṃti lokāḥ sahasraśaḥ | spṛśaṃtu ṛṣayaḥ sarve devāścāpi padaṃ mama
“When this sacred mark has been established by me, thousands upon thousands of beings attain higher worlds. Let all the sages—and even the gods—touch this mark of mine.”
Brahmā
Tirtha: Mahāpada
Type: peak
Listener: Sages (and by extension devas)
Scene: A procession-like tableau: sages and devas approach the Mahāpada; the imprint radiates upward as if forming a ladder of light toward higher worlds, suggesting many beings ascending.
A divinely empowered tīrtha can elevate vast numbers; sacred geography functions as a universal mercy for all classes of beings.
Brahmā’s Mahāpada (his established sacred mark/footprint) in the Arbuda context.
Touching (spṛś-) the Mahāpada is again prescribed, now emphasized as beneficial even for devas.
