Gautama said: “O God—O Śambhu, Lord of the world—if you are pleased with me, then let your constant presence be established here at this hermitage-site.”
Gautama
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śiva (Śambhu)
Scene: Sage Gautama, hands folded, petitions Śambhu at a quiet hermitage clearing; Śiva’s presence is felt as a luminous, tranquil aura around the āśrama.
The highest boon is not worldly gain but the enduring presence (sānnidhya) of the Lord for the benefit of all.
Gautamāśrama, envisioned as a permanent locus of Śiva’s presence.
A devotional request establishing divine residence; it implies ongoing worship at the site.
