pulastya uvāca | evaṃ sarve varāndattvā devyai devā nṛpottama | tadājñayā divaṃ jagmurdevī tatraiva saṃsthitā
Pulastya said: Thus, O best of kings, after all the gods had granted boons to the Goddess, they departed for heaven by her command, while the Goddess remained established there itself.
Pulastya
Tirtha: Devi-sthāpita āśrama (within Arbudakhaṇḍa)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Nṛpottama (king)
Scene: A celestial assembly: gods offering boons to the Goddess; then, at her gesture, they ascend to svarga while Devi remains seated/standing in the hermitage sanctum, anchoring the place’s sanctity.
Divine presence can become permanently established in a place; such a site gains lasting sanctity and becomes a source of boons.
Devī’s established abode within the Arbuda-khaṇḍa sacred landscape (the shrine/āśrama where she remains).
No direct ritual is prescribed here; it narrates the consecration-like establishment of Devī at the site.
