Whoever bathes in the Māmu lake and beholds that Lord Mudgaleśvara will, in this very life, enjoy every rightful desire, and in the end attain liberation. For this reason, O king, it is remembered as “Māmuhrada” (the Māmu lake).
Pulastya (contextual)
Tirtha: Māmuhrada
Type: kund
Listener: Mahīpati (king)
Scene: Pilgrims descend stone steps into a clear mountain lake (Māmuhrada) for ritual bathing; nearby stands the Mudgaleśvara liṅga shrine where they offer bilva leaves and water, symbolizing bhukti-mukti.
Tīrtha-bathing combined with Śiva-darśana grants both dharmic worldly fulfillment and final liberation—integrating bhoga and mokṣa within Purāṇic dharma.
Māmuhrada (Māmu lake) and the shrine/deity Mudgaleśvara.
Snāna at Māmuhrada and darśana (beholding/worship) of Mudgaleśvara.
