tapasā paramogreṇa caraṃtī cāruhāsinī | madano yatra dagdhaśca rudreṇa ca mahātmanā | tatraiva vediṃ kṛtvā ca tasyopari susaṃsthitā
Wandering in severe, supreme austerity, the fair-smiling one reached the very place where Madana (Kāma) had been burned by the great-souled Rudra. There itself she prepared a sacred altar and sat firmly upon it.
