देव्या गतं वै स्वपितुर्गृहं तदा विमृश्य सर्वं भगवान्महेशः । दाक्षायणी पित्रवमानिता सती न यास्यतीति स्वपुरं पुनर्जगौ
devyā gataṃ vai svapiturgṛhaṃ tadā vimṛśya sarvaṃ bhagavānmaheśaḥ | dākṣāyaṇī pitravamānitā satī na yāsyatīti svapuraṃ punarjagau
When the Goddess had gone to her father’s house, the Blessed Maheśa reflected on everything. Concluding that Dakṣāyaṇī Satī—insulted by her father—would not return, he went back again to his own abode.
Narrator (Sūta/Lomaharṣaṇa tradition)
Tirtha: Kedāra (contextual) / Kailāsa (mythic abode)
Type: peak
Scene: Śiva, after inward contemplation, turns back toward his own abode, the atmosphere heavy with impending tragedy; Devī’s absence is felt as a void.
Disrespect toward the divine (and toward dharma) leads to irreversible consequences; honor is central to sacred order.
No tīrtha is directly glorified; the verse advances the Dakṣa-yajña storyline within Kedārakhaṇḍa.
None.
