पृथिवीवासिनः सर्वे ये च स्वर्गनिवासिनः । पातालवासिनस्तृप्ता जायंते लिंगपूजया
pṛthivīvāsinaḥ sarve ye ca svarganivāsinaḥ | pātālavāsinastṛptā jāyaṃte liṃgapūjayā
All who dwell on earth, those who dwell in heaven, and the residents of the netherworlds as well—through worship of the liṅga they become satisfied and fulfilled.
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) to the sages (deduced)
Scene: A cosmic composition: three tiers—earth with devotees at a shrine, heaven with devas offering garlands, and pātāla with nāgas/daityas offering lamps—all facing a central radiant Śiva-liṅga, conveying universal ‘tṛpti’.
Liṅga-pūjā is presented as universally efficacious—bringing contentment and spiritual fulfillment across all three worlds.
No specific tirtha is named; the verse universalizes the fruit of worship rather than tying it to one geography.
Liṅga-pūjā (worship of the Śiva-liṅga) as a means to attain tṛpti—inner satisfaction and auspicious fruition.
