Having summoned one clothed in damp garments, and likewise one kept under fasting observance, one should conduct all ordeals (divya) in the presence of the deity and of brāhmaṇas.
Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta) (deduced from Māheśvarakhaṇḍa narrative style)
Scene: A fasting participant and another in damp garments are brought before a shrine; brāhmaṇas sit as witnesses; ritual items arranged; the atmosphere is solemn and judicial-sacred.
Spiritual accountability is communal and sacred—rites are validated by purity disciplines and by worthy witnesses.
No tīrtha is named; the emphasis is on proper ritual setting and witnesses.
The participant should be prepared (damp clothing/fasting), and ordeals must be performed in the presence of the deity and brāhmaṇas.
