After thus making the respectful request, one should offer a lotus-seat with this mantra. The Lord who is seated upon the lotus—Sūrya, delight of the lotus—takes His place upon it. When He is seated, one should arrange the remaining worship in this prescribed order. “Oṃ—salutation to the Lord of the Ocean of Milk, whose form is Soma”: thus is the bathing with milk and the like. “Oṃ—salutation to Bhāskara, the tranquil one”: thus is the water-bath. Then one should offer a pair of pure white garments with this mantra: “O Sūrya, graciously accept this pair of cloths from me—one as a waist-ornament, and the second as a covering for the limbs.”
Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta) to the sages (deduced)
Scene: A golden-hued Sūrya is invited to a lotus-seat; attendants prepare kṣīra-abhiṣeka and jala-snāna; two spotless white garments are offered, one tied at the waist and one draped over the limbs; ritual vessels gleam, and the altar is orderly and luminous.
Devotion is expressed through orderly hospitality—seat, bath, and clothing—affirming the deity’s living presence and the worshipper’s humility.
No specific tīrtha is mentioned; it is a ritual manual-style passage for Sūrya-pūjā.
Offer a lotus-seat, perform milk-bathing and water-bathing with mantras, then offer a pair of white garments as waist-ornament and body-covering.
