durlabhā bhaktiḥ sūrye vā durlabhaṃ tasya cārcanam | dānaṃ ca durlabhaṃ tasmai tato homaśca durlabhaḥ
Rare indeed is devotion to Sūrya; rare also is his worship. Rare is charity offered for him, and rarer still is the performance of fire-offerings (homa) for him.
