anīśvarastvaṃ jagadīśvarastvaṃ guṇātmakastvaṃ guṇavarjitastvam | kālātparastvaṃ prakṛteḥ parastvaṃ kālāya kālātprakṛte namaste
You are beyond lordship, and yet You are the Lord of the universe. You are constituted of the guṇas, and yet You are free of the guṇas. You are beyond time and beyond nature—salutations to You, the Time of time itself, the One beyond prakṛti.
Dharma (Yama/Dharmarāja)
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Scene: A cosmic tableau: a wheel of time dissolves into a still center where Śiva’s presence abides; guṇas (sattva-rajas-tamas) appear as colored strands falling away from the central light.
The Divine is simultaneously immanent in creation’s qualities and utterly transcendent beyond them—hence the proper object of surrender.
Kāśī’s Shaiva Mahātmya underlies the hymn: the Lord of Kāśī is praised as the transcendent ruler beyond time and nature.
None; it is theological praise (stotra) emphasizing Śiva’s supremacy over kāla and prakṛti.
