In this world, they alone partake of wealth, grain, and prosperity; they are blessed with sons and grandsons, good spouses, and noble friends. Their fame—white and spreading like moonbeams—pervades the world: those upon whom you cast your gracious glance, O Sovereign Lady.
Devas (deduced from continued collective praise following the previous verse)
Tirtha: Kāśī-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Scene: Devī casts a gentle, luminous glance like moonbeams over devotees: households with full granaries, harmonious families, and bards spreading their fame; the city of Kāśī glows under a moonlit sky.
Divine grace (anugraha) is presented as the true source of prosperity, harmony in family life, and enduring good reputation.
The Kāśī Khaṇḍa context situates the hymn within Kāśī’s sacred landscape, where devotion is said to yield both worldly welfare and spiritual uplift.
No explicit rite is stated; the implied practice is devotion and reverent praise to attract Devī’s auspicious glance.
