गणावूचतुः । शृणु द्विज महाप्राज्ञ त्वय्यकथ्यं न किंचन । सत्संगादेव साधूनां सत्कथा संप्रवर्तते
gaṇāvūcatuḥ | śṛṇu dvija mahāprājña tvayyakathyaṃ na kiṃcana | satsaṃgādeva sādhūnāṃ satkathā saṃpravartate
The Gaṇas said: “Listen, O most wise Brāhmaṇa—there is nothing that ought not be spoken to you. Indeed, from the company of the holy alone does sacred discourse arise and proceed.”
Gaṇas (attendants of Śiva)
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Dvija/brāhmaṇa inquirer
Scene: Śiva’s gaṇas address a seated brāhmaṇa with reassuring gestures, indicating candid transmission; the setting suggests a shrine courtyard near ghāṭas.
Sat-saṅga (holy company) is the root-cause for the arising of sat-kathā—truthful, liberating spiritual teaching.
Kāśī is the implied sacred setting of this discourse in the Kāśī-khaṇḍa.
No ritual is specified; the verse emphasizes the prerequisite of holy association for receiving dharmic instruction.
