brahmahatyādi pāpāni tāvadgarjaṃti dehiṣu | yāvanmajjaṃti no māghe prayāge pāpahāriṇi

Skanda (deduced for Kāśīkhaṇḍa discourse)
Tirtha: Prayāga
Type: sangam
Scene: In Māgha dawn mist, pilgrims enter the confluence; roaring lion-like shadows labeled ‘brahmahatyā’ retreat and vanish as water touches the body.
Even grave karmic burdens lose their force through sincere pilgrimage practice—especially ritual bathing at the right sacred time.
Prayāga, explicitly called the remover of sins.
Māgha-snāna—ritual immersion/bathing at Prayāga during the Māgha month.
