विधिक्रतू ऊचतुः । वेदाः प्रमाणं सर्वत्र प्रतिष्ठां परमामिताः । यूयमेव न संदेहः किं तत्त्वं प्रतितिष्ठत
vidhikratū ūcatuḥ | vedāḥ pramāṇaṃ sarvatra pratiṣṭhāṃ paramāmitāḥ | yūyameva na saṃdehaḥ kiṃ tattvaṃ pratitiṣṭhata
Vidhi and Kratu said: “The Vedas are the authority everywhere, the supreme and immeasurable foundation. You indeed, O Śrutis, are that—no doubt. In which Reality do you ultimately stand established?”
Vidhi and Kratu
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śaunaka and sages
Scene: Vidhi and Kratu, now respectful, address the personified Śrutis, acknowledging their supreme authority and asking the metaphysical question of their ultimate foundation.
Even when scripture is accepted as pramāṇa, one must ask its final purport: what ultimate tattva the Śruti establishes.
None; the focus is on Vedic authority within the Kāśī narrative context.
None; it is an inquiry into doctrinal foundation.
