स्नानार्थं देवतानां च ऋषीणां भावितात्मनाम् । तत्र स्नात्वा च पीत्वा च सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते
snānārthaṃ devatānāṃ ca ṛṣīṇāṃ bhāvitātmanām | tatra snātvā ca pītvā ca sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate
That sacred place is meant for the bathing of the Devas and of the Ṛṣis whose selves are purified. Having bathed there and also drunk its water, one is released from all sins.

Scene: A serene forest-tirtha where devas and rishis bathe; clear water, lotuses, ascetics with matted hair, subtle divine presence; a pilgrim drinks cupped water after bathing.
Holy bathing and reverent use of tīrtha-water purify the practitioner and dissolve accumulated sin.
