Transliteration

evamuktastu deveśo brahmaṇā parameṣṭhinā | uvāca ślakṣṇayā vācā narmadāṃ saritāṃ varām

Thus addressed by Brahmā, the Supreme Lord, the Lord of gods spoke in gentle words to Narmadā—the best among rivers.
