ईश्वर उवाच । अहं ते वरदस्तात गौरी माता पिता ह्यहम् । वरं वृणीष्व यच्चेष्टं त्रिषु लोकेषु दुर्लभम्
īśvara uvāca | ahaṃ te varadastāta gaurī mātā pitā hyaham | varaṃ vṛṇīṣva yacceṣṭaṃ triṣu lokeṣu durlabham
Īśvara said: “Dear son, I am your bestower of boons; and Gaurī is your mother—indeed, I am your father. Choose a boon, whatever you desire, even if it is hard to obtain in the three worlds.”
