बहुधा स्थापिता लोके मया त्वत्कृपया तथा । एवं भुतस्य मेप्येवं गुरुभूतस्य सर्वतः
bahudhā sthāpitā loke mayā tvatkṛpayā tathā | evaṃ bhutasya mepyevaṃ gurubhūtasya sarvataḥ
By your grace I have established (this worship/this liṅga) in the world in many ways. Thus, even for me—who seem to live sustained by you—you alone, everywhere, stand as my Guru and supreme guide.
Brahma
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: teaching
It teaches that all authentic Shiva-worship and spiritual authority arise from Shiva’s own grace, and that Shiva is the universal Guru who inwardly guides the soul (paśu) toward liberation.
The verse frames Linga-establishment and public worship as empowered by Shiva’s compassion—Saguna worship becomes a divinely sanctioned means for beings to approach the Nirguna truth through a sacred form.
Approach Linga-puja with humility and reliance on Shiva’s grace—daily worship with mantra-japa (especially the Panchakshara) while contemplating Shiva as the inner Guru who makes the practice fruitful.
