Sthala Purana: In the Viśveśvarasaṃhitā setting, the teaching is framed for Kāśī/Viśveśvara: Śiva is accessible through liṅga-upāsanā and nāma-japa; the ‘all-desires’ fruit echoes Kāśī’s reputation for granting both bhukti and mukti.
Significance: Nāma-arcana and liṅga-pūjā in Kāśī is extolled as quickly purifying pāśa (bondage) and fulfilling legitimate aims; ultimately oriented to liberation through Śiva’s grace.
Type: stotra

It affirms that worship of the Pārthiva (earthen) Liṅga, supported by Śiva’s sacred names, is a complete sādhana that can grant both worldly aims and higher spiritual fulfillment through devotion to Pati (Śiva).
By highlighting worship “with Śiva’s names,” the verse presents the Liṅga as Saguna upāsanā—an accessible form through which the devotee concentrates mind and speech on Śiva, leading toward purification and grace.
Nāma-japa (repetition of Śiva’s names—commonly centered on the Pañcākṣarī, Om Namaḥ Śivāya) as the core of Pārthiva Liṅga pūjā, emphasizing attentive listening, recitation, and devotion.
