Praṇava-Māhātmya and the Twofold Mantra (Sūkṣma–Sthūla) in Śaiva Sādhanā
शिवप्रसादशिद्धिः स्याच्छिवस्य कृपया बुधाः
śivaprasādaśiddhiḥ syācchivasya kṛpayā budhāḥ
O wise ones, success that comes through Śiva’s grace arises only by Śiva’s own compassion.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: General Śaiva doctrine: siddhi is fundamentally Śiva-prasāda, not merely personal effort; pilgrimage and practice are efficacious insofar as they invite grace.
Role: liberating
It teaches that true spiritual attainment (siddhi) is not merely self-made; it is fulfilled through Shiva’s compassion and grace, aligning with Shaiva Siddhanta where Pati (Shiva) alone bestows liberation.
Linga and Saguna Shiva worship are presented as concrete means to invite Shiva’s prasada; the verse emphasizes that the fruit of such worship is ultimately granted by Shiva’s कृपा (kṛpā), not by ritual power alone.
A practical takeaway is grace-oriented devotion: regular japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namah Shivaya) with humility and surrender, treating all results as Shiva’s prasada.
