Maṇḍala–Pūjā–Homa Krama
Maṇḍala Worship and Homa Sequence for the Disciple
पूजां सावरणां शम्भोरासनानि च सन्दिशेत् । पुनः संपूज्य देवेशं यन्मया समनुष्ठितम्
pūjāṃ sāvaraṇāṃ śambhorāsanāni ca sandiśet | punaḥ saṃpūjya deveśaṃ yanmayā samanuṣṭhitam
One should worship Śambhu together with His attendant deities (the āvaraṇas) and duly arrange the sacred seats (āsanas). Then, having again worshipped the Lord of the gods, one should reverently declare: “This is the rite that has been performed by me.”
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Mantra: yanmayā samanuṣṭhitam (ritual declaration; not a mantra proper)
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It emphasizes completeness and accountability in worship: honoring Śiva along with His āvaraṇas (attendant divine circle) and consciously offering one’s performed rite back to the Lord, turning action into devotion (bhakti) rather than mere procedure.
It reflects saguna-upāsanā: arranging āsana and worshipping Śiva in a ritual form (often the Liṅga) together with the surrounding deities/energies (āvaraṇa), indicating a structured pūjā that supports concentration and reverence.
A stepwise pūjā: set the āsana(s), worship Śiva with the āvaraṇa-devatās, then conclude by re-offering the act—mentally surrendering the entire performance to Deveśa (Śiva) as a devotional completion.
