Maṇḍala Worship and Homa Sequence for the Disciple
पितामह त्वया नास्य यातुः शैवं परं पदम् । प्रतिबन्धो विधातव्यः शैवाज्ञैषा गरीयसी
pitāmaha tvayā nāsya yātuḥ śaivaṃ paraṃ padam | pratibandho vidhātavyaḥ śaivājñaiṣā garīyasī
“O Grandfather (Brahmā), by you this one—who has become a yātu, a malign being—must not be allowed to attain the supreme abode of Śiva. A restraint must be imposed, for this command of Śiva is weightier than all else.”

It emphasizes that attaining Śiva’s supreme state is governed by Śiva’s sovereign grace and law (ājñā); destructive, adharmic tendencies (yātu-nature) create a binding unfitness, and divine restraint preserves cosmic order until purification is possible.
By highlighting Śiva’s personal authority (Saguna Śiva) as the Lord who issues commands, it frames Linga-worship as disciplined alignment with Śiva’s will—devotion is not mere ritual, but conformity to dharma and inner purification under Śiva’s governance.
The takeaway is self-restraint (niyama) and purification: regular japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with dharmic conduct, supported by Shaiva disciplines like bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as aids to steadiness and ethical control.
