Dadhīci said: “What fruit can this sacrifice yield if other gods are worshipped in it? For if you do not worship Rudra as the sovereign of this rite, what true kingship can this sacrifice possess?”
Sage Dadhichi
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
Offering: naivedya
It declares that ritual action (yajña) becomes spiritually fruitful only when oriented to Rudra, the supreme Pati; otherwise the rite remains outward and incomplete.
By insisting on Rudra as the ‘king’ of the sacrifice, it supports Saguna worship—such as Linga-pūjā—as the concrete focus through which the rite is offered to the highest reality.
Make Rudra the principal deity of worship—perform Rudra-pūjā with mantra-japa (especially the Panchākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) as the inner offering that completes external ritual.
