Umāyāḥ Kriyāyoga-Rahasya
The Esoteric Teaching on Umā’s Kriyāyoga
य एनां शृणुयाद्भक्त्या श्रावयेद्वा समाहितः । पठेद्वा पाठयेद्वापि स याति परमां गतिम्
ya enāṃ śṛṇuyādbhaktyā śrāvayedvā samāhitaḥ | paṭhedvā pāṭhayedvāpi sa yāti paramāṃ gatim
Whoever hears this with devotion, or, with a collected mind, causes it to be heard; whoever recites it or even has it recited—such a person attains the supreme state (the highest liberation granted by Lord Śiva).
Suta Goswami (narrating the phalaśruti of the discourse to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It is a phalaśruti stating that devotional listening (śravaṇa), recitation (pāṭha), and enabling others to hear/recite—done with a steady mind—lead to the supreme gati, i.e., Shiva-granted liberation.
The verse emphasizes bhakti expressed through hearing and chanting sacred Shiva-teachings; in Saguna worship, such śravaṇa and pāṭha typically accompany Linga-pūjā, stotra recitation, and kathā-śravaṇa as direct devotional offerings to Lord Shiva.
Regular śravaṇa (listening to Shiva Purana), pāṭha (recitation), and pravacana (making others hear) with samādhāna (mental collectedness); it can be paired with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” as a focused daily practice.
