“O Mother, a hymn of praise is being offered to me by all the dwellers of heaven, who are grievously oppressed by the two mighty demons Niśumbha and Śumbha.”

The verse highlights śaraṇāgati (taking refuge): when beings are bound by overwhelming forces (pāśa), they turn to the Divine Mother, whose grace operates inseparably with Śiva (Pati) to restore dharma and inner fearlessness.
Though the verse centers on Devī, it reflects Saguna worship through stotra (praise) and personal relationship—an approach endorsed in Shaiva tradition where Śiva and Umā are worshiped together, and devotion becomes a living means to receive protection and guidance.
Stotra-pāṭha with focused remembrance (smaraṇa) is implied—reciting hymns with humility and surrender; practitioners may pair this with japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and simple worship of Śiva-Śakti for protection and steadiness of mind.
