Wishing to take hold of the charming fisherman’s daughter, the sage reached out with his right hand and touched her on her right hand.
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
It highlights how intention (kāma/desire) can immediately shape action; in Shaiva Siddhanta, such impulse is a form of pasha (bondage) that must be purified through dharma and devotion to Pati (Shiva).
The narrative contrast is implicit: worldly grasping binds, while approaching Saguna Shiva through Linga-worship redirects the same mind toward reverence, self-restraint, and liberation-oriented intention.
Practice intention-purification with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) before action; cultivate restraint (saṁyama) as a Mahashivratri-style vow, supported by simple daily Shiva worship.
