Cosmic Event: enumeration of progeny/participants in a manvantara lineage set
This verse functions as a genealogical/catalogue passage, situating the narrative world of the Umāsaṃhitā through named exemplars; in Shaiva reading, such lists emphasize the continuity of dharma-bound lineages within which devotion to Pati (Śiva) is preserved and transmitted.
Indirectly: by naming figures within the tradition’s remembered lineages, it frames the human and royal contexts where Saguna Śiva worship (including Liṅga-pūjā) is practiced, protected, and taught, even when the verse itself is a list of names.
No specific rite is prescribed in this shloka; the practical takeaway is to follow dharma and lineage-based instruction—typically expressed in the Shiva Purana through regular Liṅga worship, japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and Shaiva disciplines like bhasma and rudrākṣa when taught in the surrounding context.
