Cosmic Event: manvantara-genealogy (progenitors of devas/daityas/other lineages)
The verse lists primordial mothers in the Purāṇic cosmology, indicating how ordered creation unfolds under divine law (dharma). In a Śaiva reading, such genealogies frame the manifest world (pāśa) in which the soul (paśu) seeks the liberating Lord (Pati), Śiva.
Though it is genealogical, it supports the narrative backdrop of the manifest universe where Saguna Śiva is worshipped as the accessible Lord within creation. Knowing the cosmic context enhances devotion, but liberation is ultimately attained through Śiva-bhakti and grace rather than lineage.
No direct ritual is prescribed in this verse; the practical takeaway is śravaṇa (reverent listening) of the Purāṇa with remembrance of Śiva. One may pair the study with japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra—"Om Namaḥ Śivāya"—to orient the mind toward Pati (Śiva) beyond the created order.
