सृष्टिविस्तारप्रश्नः (Sṛṣṭi-vistāra-praśnaḥ) — The Detailed Inquiry into Creation
तदाप्रभृति वै भ्राता भ्रातुरन्वेषणे रतः । प्रयातो नश्यति मुने तन्न कार्य्यं विपश्चिता
tadāprabhṛti vai bhrātā bhrāturanveṣaṇe rataḥ | prayāto naśyati mune tanna kāryyaṃ vipaścitā
“From that time onward, indeed, the brother remained absorbed in searching for his brother. But one who sets out in that manner is ruined, O sage; therefore, the wise should not undertake such an act.”

It warns that attachment-driven pursuits can become a binding pāśa (bond) leading to downfall; the wise act with viveka (discernment), turning the mind toward Pati (Shiva) rather than compulsive worldly fixation.
By discouraging ruinous outward chasing, it implicitly redirects the seeker to steadiness and inner refuge—qualities central to Saguna Shiva worship through the Linga, where the mind is gathered, purified, and oriented toward Shiva as the liberator.
Cultivate restraint and recollection of Shiva through japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and steady dhyāna, replacing restless pursuit with disciplined devotion and inward focus.
