It situates cosmic order (ṛta/dharma) within sacred lineage: beings like Varuṇa arise through divinely governed creation, reminding the devotee that worldly authority and moral law ultimately rest under the sovereignty of Pati (Śiva).
Though genealogical, it supports the Shaiva view that all deities and powers function within Śiva’s cosmic lordship; thus worship of the Liṅga (Saguna focus) is worship of the source that empowers such deities and their ordained roles.
A practical takeaway is to cultivate dharma through daily Śiva-smaraṇa: recite the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") with Tripuṇḍra and bhasma as a reminder that all power is regulated by divine order.
