Kṛṣṇādi-Śivabhaktoddhāraṇa & Śiva-māhātmya-varṇana
Deliverance of Krishna and other devotees; Description of Shiva’s Greatness
गृहस्थितः प्रतिच्छन्नस्तत्रैव स मृतो द्विजः । विश्वामित्रस्यनुज्ञातस्तत्पुत्रो गालवस्तथा

Remaining concealed within the house, that Brahmin died there itself. With Viśvāmitra’s permission, his son—Gālava—then proceeded accordingly.

Tattva Level: pasha
The verse underscores karmic inevitability and the fragility of embodied life: concealment and worldly maneuvering cannot ultimately override destiny; in Shaiva Siddhanta, true refuge is alignment with dharma and remembrance of Pati (Shiva), the Lord who grants liberation beyond death.
Though not explicitly about Linga worship, the narrative tone supports a core Shiva Purana message: human actions and outcomes are transient, while devotion to Saguna Shiva (through Linga worship) stabilizes the mind and directs one toward Shiva’s grace, which alone cuts the bonds of pasha.
The practical takeaway is steady daily Shiva-smarana: recitation of the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with a disciplined, dharmic life—optionally supported by Tripundra (bhasma) and rudraksha as aids to remembrance.
