Vāyu-jaya (Prāṇa-vijaya) and Yogic Mastery over Time — वायुजय (प्राणविजय) तथा कालजय
पुनरन्यत्प्रवक्ष्णमि विधानं यत्सुरैरपि । गोपितं तु प्रयत्नेन तच्छृणुष्व वरानने
punaranyatpravakṣṇami vidhānaṃ yatsurairapi | gopitaṃ tu prayatnena tacchṛṇuṣva varānane
Again I shall proclaim another sacred procedure—one that even the gods guard with great care. O fair-faced one, listen to it with attentive mind.
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
The verse emphasizes that certain Shaiva disciplines (vidhi) are subtle and transformative, so they are safeguarded; sincere listening and receptivity are presented as the first step toward grace and liberation under Pati (Shiva).
By introducing a protected “procedure,” Shiva signals that Saguna worship (such as Linga-upasana with correct method, purity, and devotion) is not merely external ritual but a disciplined path that channels devotion into inner realization.
The verse directly suggests śravaṇa (attentive listening to the prescribed method); in the Shiva Purana this typically precedes practical upasana such as mantra-japa (often Panchakshara), and disciplined observances like bhasma/rudraksha practices taught in subsequent verses.
