It highlights that worldly relationships sustained by fear, gain, or social pressure are unstable; Shaiva teaching points the seeker toward a higher, steady refuge in devotion to Pati (Shiva), beyond changing pasha-bound motives.
By contrasting unreliable worldly supports with what is enduring, it implicitly directs the mind to the steadfast support of Saguna Shiva worship—Linga-upasana—where devotion is not transactional but rooted in reverence and inner transformation.
Cultivate non-transactional bhakti through daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and simple Linga worship with bhasma and water, training the mind to rest in Shiva rather than fear, wealth, or social compulsion.
