हरिश्शक्तिश्च सद्भक्त्या दधीचश्च महेश्वरः । शिवानुग्रहतोऽभूवंस्तथा रामो हि शांकरः
hariśśaktiśca sadbhaktyā dadhīcaśca maheśvaraḥ | śivānugrahato'bhūvaṃstathā rāmo hi śāṃkaraḥ
Through true devotion, Hari became endowed with divine power; Dadhīci became a great lordly sage; and likewise Rāma became a devotee of Śaṅkara—all of them attaining these states by the gracious favor of Śiva.

It teaches that spiritual excellence and divine empowerment arise primarily from śivānugraha (Śiva’s grace), which is drawn by sad-bhakti (genuine devotion), aligning the soul (paśu) toward the Lord (Pati) beyond bondage (pāśa).
By praising Śiva’s bestowal of grace upon revered figures, the verse supports Saguna Śiva worship—approaching Śiva as Śaṅkara/Liṅga—where devotion, surrender, and reverence invite anugraha that uplifts the devotee.
Cultivate sad-bhakti through daily Śiva-japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and devotional worship (pūjā/abhisheka), praying specifically for śivānugraha rather than worldly attainment.
