सीमंतिनी प्रिया तस्य सोमव्रतपरायणा । शिवानुग्रहतः कृष्ण लेभे सौभाग्यमुत्तमम्
sīmaṃtinī priyā tasya somavrataparāyaṇā | śivānugrahataḥ kṛṣṇa lebhe saubhāgyamuttamam
O Kṛṣṇa, his beloved Sīmantinī—steadfast in the Soma-vrata—by Lord Śiva’s grace attained the highest good fortune.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Shiva Purana account to the sages)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
The verse highlights Śiva’s anugraha (grace) as the decisive cause of auspicious flourishing—when devotion is expressed through disciplined vrata, the devotee becomes fit to receive Śiva’s blessing.
The emphasis on Śiva’s “anugraha” aligns with Saguna Śiva worship (including Liṅga-upāsanā), where devoted observance and ritual fidelity culminate in the Lord’s tangible bestowal of blessings in life and dharma.
It points to vrata-sādhana—steadfast vow-observance (like Soma-vrata) supported by Śiva-bhakti; practically, devotees may pair such observance with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and regular Śiva-pūjā according to capacity.
